countdown chain diy.

our schedule {like everyone else i know} is jam packed from now until new years + my middle people {espen + tilly} have been asking mucho questions about our schedule.  all day.  everyday.

so, to curb my exhaustion from repetitive explanation giving, we solved our little world problem with a countdown chain {you know, the kind we made when we were little people} and added a twist….  here are:

now, instead of explaining {for the bazillionth} time how it can be christmas season and not christmas day, i can direct them to the lovely chain they made:

we were able to cut a link of the chain off with a special date – “The Nutcracker” or the “buttcracker” or  “peanutcracker” as it is lovingly called in our home, over the weekend.  it was fun to see their excitement and anticipation the few days before.

i would love to hear what are you looking forward to this season!?

this is such a great twist on a classic. we are headed to georgia to be with grandpa and granny on christmas day, and everyday (since before thanksgiving) my now 3 and 4 year olds have been asking if it’s time to go to grandpa’s house. thanks for the great idea of labeling the chain!
